The Sydney University Bangladeshi Student Association was first founded in 2012. However, the society itself came to existence with the University of Sydney Union (USU) during the year 2014. SUBSA expects to facilitate collaboration, information exchange and social interaction amongst the students who want to experience an essence of Bangladesh. The society currently has over 92 active members along with an Executive Board consisting of 10 determined individuals.

Bangladesh is the only country in the world to have fought a liberation war over a mother language- Bangla. We Bangladeshis take a great deal of pride in this matter and therefore believe that it is upon us to uphold our wonderful Bangladeshi heritage and culture here at the Sydney University. We believe in having an open mind and in turn collaborating with other associations here at the USU in order to come up with remarkable events. Therefore, the SUBSA team invites all individuals and societies in helping us making a Bangladeshi landmark at the University of Sydney. Together we shall prosper.
